Acting Like a Teenager With a New Credit Card

While it’s heartening to see that someone is listening out there, it’s a little disheartening to see that it’s President Bush’s speech writers.

This past week Bush made a speech in which he accused Congress of “acting like a teenager with a new credit card.”

Does anyone else see any irony in this statement? Is this the same President who asked for $192 billion this year for a war he started based on a lie?

It would have been nice to see the Democrats using this message. There’s still time to use another suggestion though. Ask President Bush to explain to the American people what the return on investment (ROI) from this war is.

What is it we’re getting? Are we safer today? Are the Iraqis better off? Is the world more stable? It doesn’t look to me like we’re getting anything. And the Iraqis certainly don’t seem to be either.
